Park and Stride – Tesco Partnership

We are pleased to announce that Tesco have allowed us to use their car park as part of a Park and Stride Partnership! After an Eco Committee meeting, Head of the Eco Committee (Cameron Wilson Year 6) wrote to Tesco putting forward our ideas to help us reduce the amount of children being driven to school. From this, we arranged a meeting with the Community Champion Vicki and the Store Manger Steve to meet with the KS2 representatives for further discussion. The Tesco Team were very impressed with their persuasiveness and are happy to allow the use of their car park for this venture.

Park & Stride is ideal for families living too far away from school to be able to walk. It is a simple solution and means that children at least walk some of the way to and from school – only 4 minutes from the back Tesco car park when using either of the school entrances. It is also good for parents who have to drive on to work.  Additionally, it will help us to keep the roads around the school much clearer and therefore a lot safer for the children when walking to school each day.
The Eco Race will also be up and running again for three weeks beginning on the 6th of March. Park and Stride earns 3 points, whereas driving the full way will only earn 1. Tesco have also kindly offered to stock up their free fruit basket at the front of the store so that your child can grab a healthy snack for their journey!

We are really looking forward to seeing this new venture progress!

Safer Internet Day 2017 – ‘Be the change: unite for a better internet’.

This year, Safer Internet Day took place on Tuesday 7th February.  Children at White Court School joined in the global celebration by exploring ways to stay safe on the internet, through fun animated video clips and songs.  Teachers highlighted important safety guidelines to ensure your child stays safe when using the internet.

New School Gymnastic Equipment

We would like to unveil our brand new gymnastic wall bars which were installed over the Easter holidays. With help from our Sport’s Premium money, we were able to upgrade and improve our old wall bars. We are sure the children will love them and they will definitely be used to their full potential!
